District Partnership Connection- Dr. Jo Beth Jimerson
Dr. Jo Beth Jimerson was awarded support for former TCU students, who are now public school administrators, to attend and participate in the 2018 University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) conference in Houston, TX. They presented a session entitled “Coupling Theory and Practice: Teaching and Learning about Data Use and School Leadership”

Sister-to-Sister Summit- Dr. Cecilia Silva
CPE awarded support to Dr. Cecilia Silva’s Sister-to-Sister Conference which took place in November 2018. The Sister-to-Sister Summit aims to provide participating Fort Worth ISD middle school students in identifying issues that concern adolescents, and developing the tools for implementing change in their personal lives, schools, and communities.
Participation in the 5th Annual Network for Public Education Conference
CPE Sponsored the travel of CPE Director, Dr. Marla McGhee and COE Faculty member, Dr. Steve Przymus. The conference took place in October 20-21st, 2018 in Indianapolis, IN.
Campus Visit for Aspiring Educators from FWISD
CPE provided meals, personalized t-shirts and TCU themed items to 115 students/teachers from Western Hills and Dunbar High School, who spent the day touring the TCU campus on November 6, 2018.
Movie Screening – G is for Gun Documentary
CPE sponsored the screening of the documentary “G is for Gun,” about arming educators. After viewing the documentary, a set of panelists (parent, student, teacher, administrator, and security expert) discussed the issue with the audience members.
2018 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee
North Texas students competed to represent our region in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram was a co-sponsor of this event.
McLean Professional Development
The Center for Public Education and TCU Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies hosted 6-8th grade educators from McLean 6th Grade and McLean Middle School.
